Baptism

Once a person admits that he or she is a sinner and turns to Christ for salvation, the Bible says they should be witnesses to the world. Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace for those who proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Notes/Outline:

The baptism of Jesus. (Mark 1:9-11)

Baptism follows an individual’s decision to trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation. (Acts 2:41; 8:12; 10:47-48; 16:30-34; 19:1-5)

EXAMPLE: Philip and the Ethiopian (Acts 8:26-39; 21:8-9)

Baptism identifies the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-5)

Baptism stands as a public proclamation for those who are committing their lives to follow Jesus. (Romans 10:9-10)
